For most of my career, the holy grail has been the “single source of truth” - all your data, all in a single, interconnected platform, so you can see the full 360 on everyone and everything.
Today this is changing - and for the better. MCP means no more squishing your process to fit the tool; instead, you can choose the best-in-breed option for each of your specific use cases, and you don’t have to worry about shoehorning it all into an existing platform (like Salesforce).
For a while, “point solution” was almost an insult - everyone wanted to be a platform.
But I’m calling it: point solutions are back, baby!
